Ear infections can affect listening
Kids need to hear clearly to learn to talk.
Ear infections are very common in young children, according to the NIH.
Fluid in the ear can muffle sound for a while. Frequent infections can make it harder to hear speech clearly.
If your child has lots of ear infections, ask your pediatrician about a hearing check.
Try this: Notice if they often say "What?" or turn the TV up. Mention it at the next visit.
