Bumpy speech is often normal
Repeating sounds is common as kids learn lots of new words.
Many kids between 2 and 5 repeat words or pause while talking. It often comes and goes.
ASHA says to talk with an SLP if it lasts more than six months, comes with tension, or worries your child.
At home, slow your own pace and give them time. Don't finish their sentences.
Try this: Keep eye contact and wait. Your calm patience helps more than "slow down."
